Representatives from WEConnect India and WEConnect Canada gathered in Atlantic Canada for a highly successful and enjoyable Supplier Diversity Inbound Mission from India.

The event was organized by the World Trade Centre Atlantic Canada (WTCAC) in congress with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), the Centre for Women in Business at Mount Saint Vincent University (CWB/MSVU) and WEConnect Canada.

Activities included a keynote address from Mary Anderson, Executive Director of WEConnect Canada and addresses from Sucharita Eashwar, Executive Director of WEConnect India and Sonia Menendez, Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Centre for Women in Business.

Panel discussions and one-on-one networking opportunities were held with Procurement Directors from companies operating in India, Canada and the United States, including Accenture Procurement, SBM Nova Scotia Contractors Inc., and Target.

WEConnect Canada works with a network of regional partners to identify, certify and train women business owners who sell B2B and have products or services that fill a niche for large corporations. Everyone benefits from corporations that support supplier diversity.

Included in this photo are representatives from the four Atlantic Canada partners: Prince Edward Island Business Women’s Association, the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs, the New Brunswick Centre for Women in Business and the Nova Scotia Centre for Women in Business and Kim Anderson from Accenture, one of WEConnect Canada’s founding members. Through a facilitated discussion at Mt. St. Vincent, we explored collaboration and best practices with three associations from India .
